How to recognise a good henna cone
Here, the Lawsonia inermis powder is chosen in India and the paste prepared in Réunion, with no metallic salts or chemical additives. Natural henna comes out orange when applied, then darkens to brown within 48 hours. The paste should be smooth, khaki green to brown, with a plant smell, never a chemical one. A "black" cone that stains in ten minutes contains PPD: it is a hair dye, not henna, and it can cause serious reactions. Real henna takes time and darkens slowly, which is the sign that it is natural.
Using your henna cone well
Clean, dry skin, no cream. Cut the tip very fine, keep an even pressure, leave it on for at least 4 hours (overnight is better), then remove the crust without water.
